The development will provide
“We are all absolutely delighted with this announcement. By 2010, we will have replaced the most out-of-date buildings, many of which will be 100 years old when finally taken out of use.
The new hospital building will transform the way in which we provide patient care, enabling us to provide high quality care in fit-for-purpose facilities which local people deserve.
This achievement is a tribute to the efforts of everyone involved and a reward for our belief in the future of the Hospital - a belief that has been supported by others, particularly our local PCTs and NHS London, and finally, the Health Minister.”
Clare Panniker, Chief Executive
“I joined the Trust Board just as it was finalising its commitment to the project. Improvements to our premises have been long awaited, and can at last become a reality. Our challenge is to ensure we extract the full benefit of this new beginning for patient care, the fulfilment of our staff, and the Trust's reputation as it goes from strength to strength in the coming years.”
David Hooper, Chairman

Following the successful handover of the new North Middlesex University Hospital to the Trust in April, the client has now fully decanted into the new building. The new hospital is now open for business: the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department went live on 28th May and the official opening of the new building was held on 1st June – a mere six weeks after handover, quite an achievement.
